I get this mental image whenever the Oscar nominations are announced. I picture the announcer physically nodding to the individuals elected, sometimes searching the crowd with a momentary look of desperation on their face before they find who they’re seeking in the crowd.
I would like to express my grievous that Chris Nolan was not nominated for Best Director for INCEPTION. Really? The movie was ruddy brilliant! Sorry, I’m currently watching OLVIER! (1968), and the British just slipped in.
Out of the six categories I concern myself with–Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress–there are 9 films I haven’t seen, and only 1 of those I really don’t want to see. 127 HOURS gives me the willies. I do like James Franco, but the gist of being physical pinned up the side of a mountain–no thanks you. Still, I will sacrifice for the cause. Maybe it wont be so bad.
The films I haven’t seen at denoted. I think this can easily be done by February 27th. Anyone in the Bowling Green area want to dress up and come to my Oscar party?
