Happy Discount Chocolate Day!
My Valentine’s Day was actually pretty good. I got to spend time with one of my favorite boys that I have neglected for awhile. And of course, I’m talking about William Murray. And may I take a moment to enquire why I never heard of the movie THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE (1997) before last night. Given, in 1997 I was obsessed with TITANIC and was one of Leonardo DiCaprio‘s 500 thousand helpless devoted underage girlfriends, but still.
THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE is, quiet frankly, a brilliant comedy. Bill Murray had me in covering my face and laughing out loud. I might even dub this film his funniest, but I don’t want to be premature and judge this film by it’s novelty. GROUNDHOG DAY (1993),CADDYSHACK (1980), STRIPES (1981) and GHOSTBUSTERS (1984) will forever mark my childhood as the funniest movies I saw. Plus, it was always nice to watch a movie with my parents without feeling like they were obliging me. The best thing about Bill Murray movies is their universal access. At eight-years-old I thought GHOSTBUSTER was hilarious and now at 22 I can enjoy to adult humor that was before veiled by ignorance.
In summary, Bill Murray is hilarious. THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH is an over looked gold mine of a movie. And my Valentine’s Day was much better than any single girl could have hoped for when she made a pathetic Facebook status at 9am yesterday morning.
Oh, and by the way, 12 days until the Oscars and I only have one more movie to watch. Oh yeah!
