I know these arguments well; they were my arguments once. But while these reason seems irrefutable, they are excuses that only have the power we give them. We give the excuses power until they become walls behind which we can hide. This applies to travel, but it also applies to anything. For some reason, we are hesitant to invest time and money into the things we want in life, whether that be travel, education, or a skill.

My blog isn’t going to have fancy design or amazing images, and it’s not going to be a one-stop-shop for all your travel needs. This blog is just going to be me, embracing the world I reside in and sharing that with anyone who cares to read it when they are bored. I will accept my life as it is and do my best to show you the less-flattering side of travel and of myself. The world is not scary and it’s not a well-lighted photography set. It’s somewhere in between. Like I am. Like you are. Like everything else. And that space in between is pretty damn beautiful. Have we forgotten that in the technological age?
Being a nomad is not the romantic thing I thought it would be; whatever my Instagram feed implies or what other nomads might say, this is nothing like vacation. For every anxiety-trigger I gave up when I left office-life, I inherited two more. Still, the change of routine taught me–or has rather shown me–insights that I wasn’t wise to before.
